Havva Alkan Bala, born in Konya in 1972, is nurtured her existence from Anatolian lands.  She graduated from Middle East Technical University in 1995 as an Architect. She stepped into academic life as a Research Assistant in the Architecture Department of Selcuk University after a short period of experience in the sector. She chose to serve her hometown by making her academic career in Konya during the process of becoming a professor. Bala has attached importance to preserving its nomadic and fluid state by breaking its long and deep-rooted institutional commitment to Selcuk University (separated as Konya Technical University in 2018) with academic oriented location changes for 24 years.

Bala, who has two children named Nur and Onur, believes in traveling and being on the way. She likes to be in avenues, streets and squares, she made her doctoral dissertation as “An Analytical Frame Towards the Arrangement of Urban Interfaces in Residential Areas.” Her aproach is not only scientific but also cinematografic and she has studied on architectural readings in cinema. Bala’s most enthusiastic researches are on architectural education. She has accumulated her architectural education experience as architects and academicians under the name of “Create Difference Architectural Design Studio”. Prof. Dr. Havva Alkan Bala continues her academic studies in Cukurova University, Department of Architecture.
